There once was a girl named Mandy. She lived in Chicago, Illinois. She lived with her mom in a small apartment complex. She loved her mom and Chicago. She also loved her friends, but little did she know, her friends hated her. She was the friend that no one liked. Mandy's friends would always make fun of her, behind her back. Eventually, Mandy found out one horrid day, while she was eavesdropping on her friend's conversation.
"Oh my gosh, did you hear what Mandy told Veronica the other day? Ugh, she is such a idiot! Can you believe she's doing that stupid stuff? Ugh, she's disgusting!" One of her friend's complained to another one.
That's when Mandy told them what she thought. She said, "Geez, I thought you guys were my friends! But apparently, you're not, so screw you!" And she beat them up to a bloody pulp and someone called the police. The police managed to make Mandy stop, but the two girls were so injured, they had to go to the hospital.
A couple days later, Mandy was called to court.
As Mandy was only 16, she was still a minor and had to be charged as one. "Mandy James, you have been sentenced to reform school for the rest of your high school career!" The judge ordered and Mandy gasped in shock. Mandy didn't want to go, but she had to.
Her mom told her to go to her room once they got home from court. Her mom threw the school's handbook at her. Mandy caught it and stormed into her room. The cover read "Winchester Coed Reform Academy in Northern Indiana."
She opened it and sighed. It had a dress code. No saggy pants, hats, cleavage showing shirts, no skirts, no long necklaces, no high heels, and no tripp pants. Dresses and suits had to be black and mid-thigh length or longer. "That sucks... why no long necklaces, though?" Mandy thought to herself. She kept reading and found that hair dye was allowed, just as long you didn't make a huge mess. Cell phones were allowed, too, but they had to be turned off in classes. Backpacks and purses were allowed in class, too.
They offered 6 classes per nine week. There were a lot of cool classes. Mandy was actually kinda excited. It didn't seem that bad.
Mandy looked around her room and began packing her stuff. She caught a look of herself in her full view mirror. Mandy looked at her long naturally brown curly hair. It wasn't out of hand, just corkscrew curls. Her luminescent green eyes matched her green tank top, under her over shirt. Although her pale skin stood out in the outfit, she didn't look too bad. Mandy was always a skinny girl, but always had some meat on her bones. Mandy never bothered with makeup; It took too much time to put it on in the morning and it was a bother to take off. Besides, she didn't look so bad without it.
Mandy sighed and hoped she would make a couple of friends. There was still some hope.
A Couple Days Later....
"Bye, Mom!!" Mandy called to her mom, as she was driving away in her purple PT Cruiser to the Chicago Airport.
Her mom waved back, with a smile on her face. "Don't forget to call me when you get there! Love you!" Her mom called back to her, and blew her a kiss.
"I Will!" Mandy yelled back. Before Mandy knew it, she was at the airport. She parked her car away from the taxi stops. She unloaded her luggage from the trunk and backseat. She locked her car and walked inside.
After she went through the metal detector and all the other stuff, she finally gave the lady her ticket and boarded the plane. Of course, she was in couch. Lucky for her, Mandy's seat was a window seat. She would have hated being in those awful middle seats. It would have been a nightmare.
She got a book out of her carry on bag and began to read. She was really into her book, until...
"Hey, how are you? Looks like i'll have to sit by you." She heard a very clear, accented boy say. She looked up from her book and at the guy.
The guy was gorgeous. He looked about her age, maybe a year or two older. He had short brown hair, with chocolate brown eyes and an amazing smile. He looked skinny, yet muscular. She already really like him. Plus, he seemed nice.
"Um hello. My name is Mandy James. What's yours?" She asked the kind guy.
"Name's Carson King. I'm from Indiana. I'm kind of a bad boy." Carson hinted and winked.
"I wonder if he goes to..." Mandy thought and blurted out to him, "Do you go to Winchester Coed Reform Academy in Northern Indiana?"
Carson looked a bit surprised and asked, "Yeah, how'd you guess?"
"Well I, uh... I'm going to go there too." She admitted and blushed with embarrassment.
"Never fear, Carson is here! I'll tell you all about it!" Carson said and asked, "Mandy, wanna be friends?"
Mandy grinned and said, "It would be a pleasure."
"All right, rule number one about Winny. Always watch your back. Number two: It's always good to have friends. Number three: Never eat the pork stuff. Indiana has a huge swine flu epidemic about every year. Number four: Don't trust the ones with the anger problems. Number five: Chill with the right peeps. Number six: Don't take the extra science classes. They're super hard. And that's about it." Carson explained to Mandy.
"Ok, so basically "Be nice to others and they'll be nice back, Avoid Pork, and No extra science classes?" Mandy asked Carson, making sure she heard everything right.
"Yup. Pretty much." Carson said and smiled. Mandy nodded.
Carson and Mandy chatted the whole plane ride. He even offered her a ride to Winny from the airport, so she took it.
After an hour drive from the airport to Winny, they finally got there. Mandy's back was sore from sitting so long. Mandy got out of the car and unloaded her luggage. Carson said that he would take her inside and to the counselor office.
Mandy looked up at the school. It was built Victorian like. She loved it. Crows were at the top, caw-ing at her. She smiled. Mandy always loved dark things like this.
Carson took her to the counselor office decently fast. She hugged him and said "Thanks, Carson. I'm glad I have someone."
Carson grinned and simply answered, "Anytime," and walked away.
Mandy opened the door to the counselor office and said to the secretary, "Hello, I'm Mandy James. I'm new."
"Grade?" The secretary asked, not even looking up from her computer screen.
"10th." Mandy answered back.
"Second door to the right." The secretary said, just as bored as before.
"Ok, thanks." Mandy said and thought "Well she was utterly rude... Geez..." Mandy found the door was open and saw a young women, about in her twenties, smiling at her.
"Hello, Welcome! My name is Courtney Baye and I'm your Counselor/Guide! I'm so glad to meet you!" Courtney said, genuinely happy. She smiled warmly at Mandy and said, "Please take a seat, while i get your file out."
Courtney Baye was a red head, with straight long hair, and green eyes. She was skinny and had a Texas accent.
"Aha! There it is!" Courtney exclaimed and sat at her desk, across from where Mandy was sitting.
"Here is your map and room key! Your roommate's name is Lizzy Burton and she's as excited as I am to meet you! Your room is 213. It is located on the left side of the second floor. Now let's talk about your schedule. It says you want to be a Cosmetologist?" Courtney asked Mandy, curiously.
Mandy nodded and openly said, "Yeah, it's been a dream of mine since I was little."
"Oh, fantastic! We have a Cosmetology class still open this nine week! Do you want to take it?" Courtney asked Mandy, excitedly. Mandy nodded, equally excited.
"Now... About your other five classes.... It seems like you've already taken your core classes for this year, so do you want to take your electives for the rest of the year? We offer a lot of different ones, so take your pick!" Courtney encouraged.
"Thanks." Mandy said and looked down at the list of electives. "Culinary Arts would be cool... and Equestrian Training..." Mandy thought and said to Courtney, "Well Culinary Arts and Equestrian Training would be great."
"Ok! You'll need to pick three more classes, hun." Courtney replied.
Mandy scanned the list again. "Umm Cinematography, Audio Production, and Speech, I guess."
"Sure! All right, here's your schedule! I will show you to your dorm!" Courtney said and led her upstairs.
Mandy found her room and Courtney said she will do fine on her first day. Mandy said thanks and unlocked her door.
The dorm was beautiful! It was modern, with a Victorian twist. The walls were red and two matching couches were under a 60 inch flat screen tv, with a kitchen attached. She realized there were two bathrooms in the lobby and she wondered who this Lizzy was. The girls who were sitting on the couches were staring at her. There had to be at least 7 of them on each of them.
"Hello. I'm Mandy James. I'm looking for Izzy Burton?" Mandy asked shyly to the group of girls.
"Oh, she's upstairs." One of them said and smiled at her. Mandy nodded at her and said, "Thank you," and proceeded to go upstairs. She found the door that had a sign that said "Izzy's room!
Please come in! (Unless you're Anna or Janney or Lana... >.<)"
"O....kay...??" Mandy thought to herself and let herself in. She looked around and found two beds horizontally across from the other. One had sheets on it and the other didn't. "That one must be mine, then." Mandy thought and plopped her luggage onto the bed.
The room had dark purple walls with band posters on it. The bands included Paramore, My Chemical Romance, All Time Low, Incubus, Bob Marley, David Cook, Kelly Clarkson, and more. There was a tv in between the beds and a couple purple lounge chairs. There was a bathroom, but the door was closed. There were two closets, across from the beds and two dressers beside the closets. Mandy liked the room.
Then, a girl with straight long blonde with pink streaks hair came out of the bathroom. "Mandy!!!! You're here! Oh, i've been wanting you to come for weeks, now! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited! I'm Izzy Burton!" Izzy exclaimed and gave Mandy a huge welcoming hug.
"Wait, how did you know i was coming? I didn't know until two days ago this place existed!" Mandy asked her, shocked.
"Don't cha know? Winny is a School for Teens with Special Super Powers!" Izzy stated.
